With friends and family still surrounding the Wormer area, and thanks to my mom, I always manage to stay up to date with the latest rumors. To expand our territories, my beautiful wife Eveliina and I moved to lovely but ice-cold Finland, where we have now been living for more than four years. Although, over the past two years, we have escaped parts of the Finnish winter by traveling through Asia and Australia. That is by the way Thailand became such a big part of my third book.

Met vrienden en familie nog steeds rond Wormer, en dankzij mijn moeder, blijf ik altijd op de hoogte van de laatste roddels. Om ons territorium uit te breiden, verhuisden mijn prachtige vrouw Eveliina en ik naar het prachtige maar ijskoude Finland, waar we inmiddels al meer dan vier jaar wonen. De afgelopen twee jaar zijn we wel af en toe aan een deel van de Finse winter ontsnapt door door Azië en Australië te reizen. Zo is Thailand trouwens zo'n grote rol gaan spelen in mijn derde boek.

Besides writing, I have spent more than a decade (getting old…) working in sales, mostly within the financial industry and SaaS. More recently, I have also become increasingly involved in AI-assisted video creation. Besides creating promotional videos for companies, I am particularly interested in bringing my books to life visually. Obviously, this is also a great way to promote my books. But who knows… perhaps it is also some very early preparation for the day when Warner Bros. or Netflix comes knocking on the door for a film adaptation. It probably won't be that long, right?

Naast schrijven werk ik alweer meer dan tien jaar (ik word oud…) in sales, voornamelijk binnen de financiële sector en SaaS. De laatste tijd houd ik me ook steeds meer bezig met AI-gedreven videoproductie. Naast het maken van promotievideo's voor bedrijven, vind ik het vooral interessant om mijn boeken visueel tot leven te brengen. Dat is natuurlijk ook een mooie manier om mijn boeken te promoten. Maar wie weet… misschien is het ook wel hele vroege voorbereiding op de dag dat Warner Bros. of Netflix aanklopt voor een filmadaptatie. Dat duurt vast niet lang meer, toch?

Inspired by my boxing heroes Muhammad Ali and Tyson Fury, my confidence occasionally rises higher than Buzz Lightyear. What is more relaxing than lying on the couch and staying up to date with the latest boxing news while devouring leftover paprika chips? Besides that, my wife can name a few things. The only thought that comes to my mind is ordering Chinese food.

Geïnspireerd door mijn bokshelden Muhammad Ali en Tyson Fury, stijgt mijn zelfvertrouwen af en toe hoger dan Buzz Lightyear. Wat is er nou ontspannender dan op de bank hangen en het laatste boksnieuws volgen, terwijl je de overgebleven paprikachips opeet? Mijn vrouw kan daarnaast nog wel een paar dingen noemen. Zelf kan ik alleen maar aan Chinees bestellen denken.

Besides reading the ingredients on a Lay's bag, I read anything from fiction to nonfiction. My rather untidy bookshelf is filled with autobiographies, classic investing books, thrillers, books about religion, a few manga, and the occasional "women's book" that I supposedly bought for my wife.

Naast het lezen van de ingrediënten op een zak Lay's, lees ik van alles: fictie en non-fictie door elkaar. Mijn behoorlijk rommelige boekenkast staat vol met autobiografieën, klassieke beleggingsboeken, thrillers, boeken over religie, een paar manga's, en af en toe een 'vrouwenboek' dat ik zogenaamd voor mijn vrouw heb gekocht.
