Hi there. My name is Nick Haitsma, and I’m a Dutch-born author. Let me start with the glory days. I was born and raised in Wormer, a beautiful town near Amsterdam. As a big fan of rap music, I feel a duty to continue representing it. Somebody has to. 
I’ve always had a passion for fiction, which started with movies. To give a slight clue about my age… I was born before Netflix existed. That meant on Fridays, I had to convince my supportive (and strong-willed) dad to bike with me through the rain to the local video store, promising to avoid looking at the 18+ section, to end up renting James Bond and Robin Hood. Late on Sunday, we’d race back through the rain to slip the videotapes through the mailbox at the back of the store. Luckily, my (joyful) mother taught me to always be on time. Besides, the fines were too high if you returned late. 
A combination of finding the love of my life and being tired of sharing the TV with my (kind-hearted) younger sister led me to move to Amsterdam. After years of working for various financial companies and a fascination with the stock market, I decided to merge those interests and write my debut novel, Financial Exchange. 
Three years ago, under the guise of a new adventure—and with the blessing of my beloved grandmother Jannie—we moved to cold but lovely Finland. In all honesty, to survive the winter, my wife and I split our time between Finland and traveling across Asia. Nothing beats writing with a fantastic mountain view, which inspires my second book: Cheaters Exposed, which delves even deeper into a world of secrets, temptation, and betrayal. 
Besides writing, I enjoy watching/practicing boxing and Muay Thai. What is better than spending time with family and friends? It’s always a pleasure to return to the Netherlands: visiting local restaurants and showing my friends how to win at Mario Kart never gets old.
